The Association of Deans of Economic Faculties was founded in 2022 as a voluntary association of representatives of faculties focusing on economics of Czech public universities. The field of economics is crucial in the Czech higher education system both in terms of the number of students and academic staff as well as in terms of research, cooperation with the application sphere and fulfilling the third role of universities.

The existence of the association is based on the idea that cooperation of faculties in all areas of their activities, sharing experience and examples of good practice is the best way to contribute to development of the Czech economic higher education. Currently, 17 Deans and 4 Directors of higher education institutes are members of the association. Thus, almost 80% of all faculties of economics and institutes of public universities are represented, which makes the association a representative body that, in addition to cooperation and development, can effectively pursue the interests of faculties of economics in the university and societal environment.
